1.今日の国際化時代にあって、わが国の法律学,政治学について国際間の理解を深め、外国人がわが国の法律学や政治学を普通に理解するために必要と思われる用語を収集し、平易にこれを訳出する、との本研究の基本方針に則り、前年度までに収集された用語の取捨選択、再検討、及び各分野間の重複用語の調整を行った。2.法令名、行政機関名,国際機関名、位階勲等名、法諺等は巻末別表に掲載することとした。3.既刊の資料、例えば、「LAW BULLETIN SERIESーJAPANESE LAWS IN ENGLISH VERSION」(英文法令社)、法務省刑事局外国法令研究会編「法律用語対訳集」等を参照しつつ、英訳の再検討,相互調整を重ねた。その結果、収録用語総数は17,236語、基礎法学、公法学、民事法学、社会法学、刑事法学及び政治学の各組ごとの収録用語数は、以下の通りである。基礎法学1,307語、公法学2,813語、民事法学4,243語、社会法学2,793語、刑事法学1,622語、政治学4,458語。4.「文部省公用文送り仮名用例集」による送りがなの調整、「法令における漢字使用等について」による常用漢字表との用字の対照、既刊の学術用語集及び法務省による訳語との比較対照、また、スペリング、記号の用方等、細部の調整を行い、本研究「研究成果報告書」を作成した。
