経済的中枢管理機能を通して先進資本主義国の都市システムを検討することを今研究の第一の目的とし, あわせて既に報告している日本の事例と比較することを第二の目的とした. 先進資本主義国として, アメリカ合衆国, イギリス, フランス, 西ドイツ, 大韓民国をとりあげた. 年度の前半は資料の閲覧収集に重点をおき, その結果, イギリスを除く諸国については検討に充分な資料の存在が確認できた. アメリカ合衆国, フランス, 西ドイツについては, 第二次大戦後今日にいたるまでの時系列的な分析を可能にする資料が存在することがわかり, 既に一部は複写を完了し, 分析を開始した. 大韓民国については, 毎日経済新聞社の『会社年鑑』が最適資料と認められたので, 分析を行った. その結果を学術雑誌『経済地理学年報』に投稿し, 掲載が決定している. 経済的中枢管理機能からみた大韓民国の都市システムは, ソウルを頂点に, 釜山・大邱・仁川・光州を第二階層, 全州・馬山・原州・大田を第三階層, その他の都市といった4つの階層に分けられることが判明した. しかも, ソウルの卓越度はきわめて大きく, 韓国第二位の都市である釜山もソウルにははるかに及ばない. これを既発表の日本の場合と比較すると, 日本においては首都東京の卓越度が大きいことは韓国の場合と同様であるが, その卓越度はソウルの方が大である. しかも, 大阪, 名古屋や広域中心都市にかなりの高次都市機能が集積している日本と比べると, 韓国の場合は, 釜山以下の諸都市が日本に比べて未発達であり, そのこともあってソウルの卓越度がより大きくなっているといえよう. 首都の卓越度が大きい傾向は, 現在分析中のフランスにおいても認められる. しかし, 西ドイツやアメリカ合衆国においては状況は異なるようである. このような都市システムの類似性と相違性, ならびにその要因の比較検討を今後すすめていく予定である.

The central management function of the economy is to communicate with the urban system of advanced capitalist countries. The first purpose of this study is to report on the case of Japan and to compare it with the second purpose. Advanced capitalist countries, the United States, the Republic of Korea. The central management function of the city of the Republic of Korea is divided into four levels: Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Gwangju, Jeonju, Masan, Wonju, Daejeon. Pusan, South Korea's second largest city, has the highest degree of excellence. In comparison with Japan, Japan has a high degree of excellence in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, and Korea has a high degree of excellence in Korea. Osaka, Nagoya, Nagoya, and other cities in the central region of the city have a high degree of urban function and integration. Japan, South Korea, and other cities below Busan have not yet reached Japan. The capital city's excellence degree has a large tendency to reverse, and now the analysis is in progress. In the United States, the situation is different. The similarity and contradiction of the urban system are discussed in the future.
