東アジア諸国のうち, 日本・台湾・韓国の戦後の経済発展には,(1)高い経済成長率が達成されたこと,(2)工業化に必要な技術導入がスムーズにおこなわれたこと,(3)工業化にともない生じがちな所得分布の不平等化が他地域と比較して大きくなかったことが知られている. 一方, 本研究代表者等による戦前期の台湾・朝鮮の経済発展に関する統計整備の結果, 戦前期の両地域の経済成長率は, 日本のそれとほぼ同じであり, 当時の国際水準として非常に高かったことが判明している.この研究の第一の目的は, 最近時点の分析にかたよりがちな台湾・韓国経済の分析に, より広い視野をあたえる目的から, 戦前期・戦後期のデータを連結し, 長期経済発展モデルを作成することである. 同時に第二の目的として, これらの地域の所得分布が比較的平等に保たれた理由を追求しようとするものである. 後者の研究は, 他の発展途上国へ, 貴重な情報となり得るものである.本年度実施した作業は以下の通りである.1.戦前期朝鮮の国民経済計算(完成済)を韓国領域分に分割する.2.台湾・韓国戦前期の推計分を, 名目によび実質レベルで1955年以降のデータに接続する.3.1, 2のデータをテープに入力する.4.日本・台湾・韓国の経済発展の比較分析これらの成果は, 当重点領域の他の研究者へ配布を予定しており, これらの研究の基礎資料となることが期待できる.
