项目摘要

コンピュータとマイクロエレクトロニクス、電気通信技術の結合を特徴とする情報化が進展する社会を、通信・放送業、電子機械工業を指導する政府機関や、情報化を新しい社会現象としてとらえる論壇ジャーナリズムが、「高度情報(化)社会」と呼び、一般にこの用語が広く使われるようになったが、それがどのような社会概念を内容とし、人間に対してどのような社会問題を提起するかは、これまで必ずしも十分検討されてこなかった。本研究は、その空隙を埋め、高度情報社会の成立過程と、結果として実現される社会状況について、社会・人文・自然科学の研究対象となる課題を明らかにし、それらの解決を通じて、高度情報社会の望ましい発展の方向を追求することに役立つ研究方法の確立を目的としたが、つぎのとおり、ほぼ所期の成果を上げることができた。(1)研究領域の整理と研究課題の明確化:文明的進歩としての高度情報化が即、社会の文化的発展を約束するものではない。その自覚的達成を図る際必要となる、経済学、法律学、行政学、社会学、マス・コミ研究、研育学など諸学の領域で研究されるべき課題の明確化を果たした。(2)研究方法の総合化:高度情報社会にみられる、産業の業際化、生活の個別化とネットワーク化の同時進行、地域社会の国際化など、まったく新しい社会的変動に対する研究を進めるのに有効な学際的かつ総合的な研究体制と研究方法を創案、定着させる見通しを立てた。(3)重点領域研究への発展:総合研究(B)としての成果の発表は別記の報告書のとおりだが、本研究は、重点領域研究の準備研究に位置付けられる。(1)(2)の成果に基づく研究を本格化させるべく、政治・法律、経済・産業、教育・研究、メディア・社会、文化、の五つの研究分野・25計画研究班を含む重点領域研究「高度情報社会の総合的研究」申請書(平成2年発足)を作成、期日までに文部省に提出した。
