本年度は、昨年度に引き続き奈良盆地北部8ヵ所(奈良大学・平城宮跡・薬師寺・興福寺・東大寺・春日大社・十輪院・正倉院)および大阪平野東端1ヵ所(石切神社)において、トリエタノ-ル円筒ろ紙法による二酸化イオウ(SO^2)・二酸化チッソ(NO^2)・塩素(Cl^ー)の濃度測定と金属試験体の錆化・色彩変化の分析を行うとともに、新らたに、顔料の色彩変化の分析を行うために顔料試験体を設置し、あわせ観測・分析した。大気汚染物質の濃度分布では、SO^2・NO^2ともに盆地北部中央部を最高濃として東西南北に低濃度へと変化する。SO^2・NO^2の濃度分布は、道路・工場などの汚染発生源の分布とよく符号する。またCl^ーは盆地北部北西部に高濃度を示し、東西南北に低濃度へと変化する。しかし、Cl^ーの発生源は明確ではない。各観測点に吊下した金属試験体(銀・銅・鉄・鉛・錫)には錆化と色彩変化が見られ、大気汚染物質の高濃度観測定ほど色彩変化が大きく、かつ錆中から検出されるSO^2・NO^2・Cl^ーの量も多い。顔料試験体の色彩変化も高濃度観測点ほど大きい。このデ-タは、大気汚染物質と文化財の代替としての試験体の変化(色彩変化・錆化)の間に相関関係のあることを示し、文化財そのものの劣化にもこの関係の存在することをも実証するものである。今後、観測をさらに継続し、デ-タを蓄積・分析することにより、大気汚染が文化財に与える影響の予測と防止法を確立したい。

In the future, we will establish measures to prevent the impact of pollution on cultural property.
