1.complex manifoldsの研究において、そのChern classesは最も重要なcharacteristic classesであるが、flat affine manifoldsに対しても、それと類似したrefined affine Chern classesという基本的なaffine invariantが得られた。これはflat affine manifoldsの研究において、本質的な役割を果すcharacteristic classesであると思われる。2.compact Hessian manifolds(M,D,g)において、flat connectvon Dと、Hessian metric gから2種類のLaplacians□,□が自然に定義される。この2つは一般には同じでなく、またgのexterior productによる作用e(g)とも可換ではない。しかしM上のflat vector bundleを適当にとれば、それに値を持つ(p,q)-formsの空間においては、その2つのIaplauans□,□は一致し、e(g)とも可換である。従ってKahlerian manifoldsに対するharmonic formsの理論と同様の理論がHessian manifoldsに対しても展開できることが判明した。
