1932ー36年間の日本経済の高成長過程の解明を目指すために、本研究においては、まず工業製品を574品目に分類区分し、これら品目の1929年および36年の生産額表を作成した。そして同表を検討した結果、以下のことが明らかとなった。1.工業総生産額は1929ー36年間に1.54倍に増加した。そして574品目のうち、270品目の生産額が2倍以上に著増、さらに3倍以上の高成長を達成したものが147品目に及んだ。このように多数の製品が著しい生産増を記録したことが、この期の日本経済の第一の特徴であるといえる。2.次に1929ー36年間の生産増加が3.0倍以上に著増した高成長品目のうち、増加額が600万円を越えるものを重要高成長品目として選び出した。そうすると重要高成長品目は61品目となり、1929ー36年間の総生産増額のうち、これら品目の占める比率が43%に及ぶのである。そしてこれら品目の多くは、新興の急成長製品であったのであり、かような新興製品がこの期の日本経済の高成長を主導したといってよかろう。3.生産急増品目の特徴として、その多くが輸出に密接に関係していたことである。また生産が急増した品目は、金属・機械工業等の重化学工業製品に多かった。重化学工業製品の中では、産業機械、自動車関連製品、ラジオ・無線通信機械等の躍進が注目され、また人造絹糸、人造レジン、アルミ等の新素材関連製品の生産急増も目につく。本研究の次の課題は、重要高成長品目の生産増加の内容を詳査し、その結果を分析・総合することによってこの期の経済成長の実態を描き出すことである。現在これを継続して行っている。

An explanation of the high growth process of Japanese economy during the period from 1932 to 1936 is given. In this study, 574 categories of industrial products are classified and a production table of these products is prepared for the period from 1929 to 1936.
