项目摘要

紫色は道教において最高の尊貴な色として認識され、特別視されるようになったことについては、先学によって明らかにされている。本研究においては、紫色だけでなく、青色も道教においては特別視され、紫色とともに深くかかわっていたことを明らかにし、それは、いろいろの思想の複合、習会によって形成されている道教の中でも、いかなる思想に由来しているものであるかを論じようとするものである。道教思想と色彩を考察するにあたり,道教とはいかなる宗教であるかについて、先学者たちの研究成果を総括してみるに,結論的にいって、道教とは中国古来のシャ-マン、民間信仰を基盤とし、それに神仙諸、陰陽、五行・道家・儒家さらに仏教までの思想を重層・複合的にとり入れ、不老長生を主目的とする中国民族の土着的・伝統的な宗教であるといえよう。道教に関連して青色が文献に見えるのは、神仙の住己紫府宮は青丘にあり。その青丘は奈方に存在していた、というのである。東方ー万物の生ずるところーが青色に配されたのは前五世記頃におこった五行思想によってであり、神仙説のおこりは前四世紀の前半とされている。これらのことから、青色が特別な観思でみられるようになったのは前五〜四世紀にかけてであろうと思われる。神仙説は道教思想の中核をなす思想であり、そこに青色が取り組まれたことにより、それが道教の中に生きつづけたということなる。そして道教を代表する一つの色ともなり、例えば、道教の祭紀に用いる文体およびその文章のことを青詞といっている。青色はやがて紫色とともに道教的芸味がうれても、対語的に用いられるようになっていった。
