项目摘要

本年度の調査研究は,絵入狂言本のうち,とくに江戸板を中心にその書誌的調査を進めた。その結果以下のことが明らかとなった。(1)従来知られていなかった江戸板絵入狂言本4点を,今回新たに発見し撮影することができた。これらを含めて,上方,江戸の全狂言本の書誌的デ-タをコンピュ-タに入力し,狂言本デ-タベ-スを構築した。(2)狂言本の周辺資料として,顔見世番付・役割番付などについても,延宝期から正徳期まで,30点余りの新出本を発見し得た。とくに元禄前期の役割番付の新出は,狂言本のない時期の狂言の構成を窺い知るものとして,狂言本同様に貴重である。(3)元禄宝永期までのせりふ・浄瑠璃などの正本類も新たに調査し得たものが少なくない。元禄十年の『参会名護屋』の奥書に,江戸における狂言本出版の第一号である旨宣言されているが,これらの正本類を番付などとあわせみることによって,『参会名護屋』の記述を事実と認めてよいことが確定した。(4)江戸板狂言本の挿絵については,鳥居派絵師によるものと,それ以外の流派のものがある。杉村治兵衛一派・近藤清春などは,古浄瑠璃正本の挿絵を多く描いているが,その参入はみられない。また狂言本の挿絵と役者絵の構図には類似の点が多く,その関係が注目されるが,元禄期の役者絵の遺存品が少なく,なお充分な考察には至っていない。(5)前述のように役割番付が多く発見されたことにより,狂言本の大名題小名題と役人替名付は役割番付の縮約であることが明らかとなった。役人替名と挿絵で役者名の異なる場合があるが,挿絵の板行に時間を要するため,その作成中に配役が変更になったと推測される。
