CO_3^<2-> containing about 2.0-3.7% of enamel formed stable CO_3^<3-> radical receiving irradiation of radiant ray. The fluoride solution was acted to the enamel of permanent tooth after irradiation of gamma ray. And we observed the variation of CO_3^<3-> radical associated with uptake of F^-.As for F^- uptake of enamel, F^- concentration of fluoride solution revealed about 1000ppm at 50 and 100ppm F^-, and about 2000ppm at 500 and 1000ppm F^-. The volume of F^- uptake was increased by a high reactive concentration. However, CO_3^<2-> of enamel was decreased by about 16% at 50-100ppm F^- and 4% at 500-1000ppm.As for ESR signal intensity of CO_3^<3-> radical of enamel using 100ppm F^-, each radical rate of 1.2% (10^4 R gamma irradiation) and 100%(10^7 R gamma irradiation)was decreased significantly compared with each one prior to an action.CO_3^<2->/F^- of enamel revealed a secondary functional curve associated with uptake of F^-. From this reason, it was suggested that we could define the appropriate conditions in applying fluoride.
