1,資料調査久留米水天宮先哲記念館に所蔵される『真木和泉守遺文』未収資料の1つである「異間漫録」(自筆,和綴4冊)を6回廷23日にわたり調査した。2,資料収集上記「異間漫録」全文を研究補助者3名に依託して筆写せしめ400字詰原稿用紙444枚分を確保した。3,研究成果「異聞漫録」は嘉永6(1853)年7月22日より文久元(1861)年5月28日に至る中央の政治・外交問題,朝廷・幕府・大名・志士の動静その他にかかわるもろもろの風聞を整理筆録したものである。安政元(1854)年ペリ-再来航時の部分についていえば(1)和親条約の成立に先立つ2月市井いたって静かで警備大名の帰陣が伝えられ(2)将軍家定死去の噂が流れ(3)30間の近さの舟上より蒸気船の形状・大砲の様子を仔細に観察した日本人がいた旨の記述があり,いづれもこれまでの諸資料にみえぬことがらである。原文に適宜脚注を施し学会誌上に発表してゆくことにする。4,今後の課題久留米水天宮乃至久留米地方には真木和泉守(保臣)の家族宛書状,藩庁の取調資料,門人の回顧談筆録その他かなりの未公刊資料が残っている。討幕運動の全国レベル指導者として著名な割に資料の少ないこの人物について更に調査をつづけてゆきたいと考えている。
