(1) Site Survey and Assessment :the living environment and human resources of the Sumatera have been studied in detail.(2) International Symposium :An international symposium has been carried out at Jakarta with 160 participants from 7 countries and has confirmed the importance of construction of the Equatorial Radar.(3) Exchange of Investigators :Seminars and Schoolings have been made at major institutes in Indonesia by Japanese and foreign investigators.(4) ICEAR Working Group :Organization of the International Center for Equatorial Atmosphere research have been discussed in order to operate the Equatorial Radar after its construction.
