Implementation of Computing Curricula for B.A. Degree

The aim of the present project is to investigate how to evaluate and implement actually model curricula in computer science for B.A. and Sc. Degrees in each department. The reseachers of yhis project both in Japan and in the United States discussed on this problem and obtained yhe following result.1.We considered whether the 9-by-3 matrix proposed in the curriculum report oa ACM in 1988 can be used in order to evaluate computing curricula. We concluded that the matrix is a useful tool of curriculum evaluation.2.We considered whether the so called recurring in the curriculum report oa ACM in 1991 can be criterions of computing curricula. We concluded that the concepts are very interesting but that it requires further investigation as for the independency and completeness of the concepts.3.We considered whether the so called breadth first curricula is effective for freshmen in computer science. We concluded that this problem is reduced to that of deciding appropriate size of knowledge units.
