この研究は(財)国際東アジア研究センターが独自の学術研究を進める上での予備的考察に資するために行われた。当該期間に遂行されたのは、主として標記の研究テーマに関連する資料の収集、関連分野の専門家によるヒアリングなどであった。まず、関連資料収集については、主に中国の地方レベルの経済統計、韓国の最新の経済統計及びフフロッピーディスク形式の貿易データなどに重点がおかれた。特に、中国の地方レベルの統計資料は標記のテーマを研究する上で不可欠であり、また最近数多く刊行されるようになったことから、設立間もない当センターの資料整備にたいへん貢献した。今後こうした資料をもとに省市別のデータ・ベースとした整備して行くことも可能である。次に、専門家に対するヒアリングでは、当センターの主要研究対象国である韓国と中国について精力的な研究を行っている二組の研究者に足を運んでもらい、最近の研究成果についての講演並びに意見交換を行った。東京経済大学の服部民夫先生には人間関係、家族関係(ネット・ワーク)からみた韓国の社会経営についてお話いただき、主として当センターの若手韓国専門家との間で議論をしていただいた。今年度の研究テーマは経済分野の問題であるが、このような側面からの議論は韓国経済の動きを広い視野から分析する上で非常に参考になった。神戸大学の加藤弘之、一橋大学の佐藤宏、東京農業大学の大島一二の三先生には、最近中国広東省で行った日系企業の従業員に対するアンケート調査の初歩的な分析結果を踏まえて報告を行っていただいた。三先生の研究は他省を含めた広範囲の地域から日系企業に働きにきている従業員に対する調査で、問題意識、アプローチともにユニークである。中国の他の地域(例えば大連など)の日系企業での類以の調査を行う際、比較対象としても大いに参考になると思われる。以上二つの講演、報告とも当センターの研究プロジェクトの遂行にあたってのバック・グラウンドを提供するという意味で非常に大きな成果があった。
