We attempted to produce pig-flora-associated mice (PFM) for screening of efficiency of probiotics. The composition of fecal microbiota and concentrations of fecal short chain fatty acids and putrefactive products were studied in pigs and PFM.Major components of fecal bacterial groups of pigs were able to colonize in the intestine of PFM,but the species of Bacteroidaceae and Streptococaceae were significantly different between pigs and PFM.Fecal putrefactive products in PFM were undetectable although concentrations of them in pigs were high level. Concentrations of the major components of SCFAs of PFM were similar to those of the inocula.
