本研究は、VTR撮影による生活実態調査の資料を下に、日常生活において、家族成員のそれぞれがどのような姿勢形態をとるのか、また、これがどの程度継続し、どのように変化するのか、時間的変化のパターンを明らかにして、今後の起居様式のあり方と集まり空間の計画における基礎的な知見を得ることを目的としている。姿勢形態・行為・場所(集まり空間を450mmメッシュで座標化)をコード化して、VTR撮影資料を家族成員ごとに1分間サンプリングでファイリング(14世帯、父親13・母親16・子ども38・他成人7・計74人、1日5時間・16日分)を行い、統計分析した結果、以下のような知見を得ることができた。1.生活姿勢の継続時間をみると、イス座位は8分と、座位6分や臥位5分と比べてやや長く、座具の有無、つまり、空間様式で大きく異なる。成員別にみると、子どもはイス座位8分を除けば、5分間継続する姿勢形態はないのに対し、父親は臥位13分、イス座位10分、座位8分と、同一姿勢形態の継続時間が長く、活動的な子どもと休息的な親という対置的な集まり空間での行動と生活姿勢の実態が認められる。2.生活姿勢の時間的変化をみると、イス座位はあまり変化がないのに対し、床座位は変化が大きい。一般的に、筋の活動度の近い姿勢に、刻々と変化していくが、このとき正座・横座・胡座を介して、立座や臥位などに変化する場合が多い。成員別では、父親の姿勢はそもそもあまり変化しないが、変化する場合は臥位へ移行することが多く、一方、母親は立位へ、つまり、滞留しての行為継続がそもそも短くて場所自体を変えてしまうことが多い。子どもは、筋の活動度のレベルに不連続に姿勢形態が変化することが特徴である。
