今回、保護者の歯科医師に対する不安度を知るべく、STAI用紙を用いて状態不安・特性不安の調査を行い、また飯島の形容詞対を使用して大坊が分けた6因子から各2個ずつ計12対を用いて作成した独自の調査用紙を使用して、保護者の若手歯科医(以下Jr.と呼ぶ)ならびにベテランの歯科医(以下Sr.と呼ぶ)に対するイメージ調査を試み、診療終了後には当日の治療担当歯科医に対するイメージ調査を行った。本調査は、当科に来院する45名の保護者について、また健常児の保護者に関しては、数名の主婦らに依頼して近隣へアンケートの配布収集をお願いした40名について行った。無効アンケートはすべて除外した。また、当科に初診として来院した11名に対しては、3回目来院まで追跡調査を行った。本調査は現在もなお継続中であるが、現段階での結果をみると、初めて当診療部に来院した時点では、保護者にとってJr.よりもSr.の方が良い印象を持っているということがわかった。保護者としてはSr.による診療を望んでいることが考えられた。始めに架空のSr.ならびにJr.の歯科医像を提示して試みたイメージ調査でSr.に対して高い値を示したものは、術後の担当医についてもSr.により良い印象を持っていた。このことは、一般論として考えられるSTAI用紙で示される保護者の特性不安・状態不安との関係が推測されるが、現段階の資料数では、十分に証明し得なった。すなわち、現段階で結果を導き出すには、例数が少なく、診療システムの違いから健常児を持つ保護者との比較が困難なために危険である。今後とも、例数を積み重ねた上で、更に調査対象を選定した上での比較を試みたい。
