排尿の自覚は子供のおむつ離れに、また高齢者や病人の場合には寝たきりになるかどうかに大きく関わってくることを考えると、非常に重要な問題である。これまでの実験結果(化学研究費補助金受給以前の結果)から、その排尿の自覚に排尿前後のおむつ内温湿度の差が影響を及ぼすのではないかと考え、排尿を想定した着装実験を行い、おむつ内温湿度と排尿の自覚との関係を明らかにすることを目的として本研究課題に取り組んだ。実験方法は次の通りである。いずれも、佐賀大学科学共同開発センター恒温恒湿室において行なった。(1)濡れ認識に関する基礎実験人体の一部(大腿部、上腕部)に試料に試料を着装し、人工尿を注入する。その人工尿による濡れを自覚する迄に必要な時間を測定し、素材による差を明らかにする。(2)排尿実験データコレクター(AM-7052)に皮膚センサーと受給補助金により購入した衣服内湿度センサーを取り付け、排尿を想定した着装実験を実施した。結果は次の通りである。(1)については被験者による固体差が大であったこと、時間に測定にかなりの精度が要求される等の問題が生じたために、現在も実験中である。(2)の排尿実験の結果、排尿前後のおむつ内温度、湿度、皮膚温及び着用感の変動は、おむつの肌側素材による差が顕著に認められ、濡れの認識におむつの構成素材の物性が影響を及ぼしていることが明らかとなった。今回の結果を得て、現在使用されているおむつをより排尿の自覚を促すおむつへと改良を進めることが今後の課題である。現在実験中の結果を加え検討を行い、平成6年11月に学会発表の予定である。
