ロック以来「記憶」は〈私〉の自己同一性の根拠と考えられてきたが、今世紀の大陸の哲学者たち(ベルクソン、フッサールや、有形無形に彼らの影響を受けたものたち)は、記憶を二種類(習慣と記憶、過去把持と想起など)に分け、一つの主観の経験を、馴染みのないものから身近なものへ、身近なものから忘れさられたものへという螺旋的なダイナミズムによって説明しようとしてきた。そのかぎりで記憶は〈私〉にとって馴染みのないもの、異他なるものへの通路でもあった。同時に「想起」をめぐる議論においても、精神分析や文学(たとえばプル-ストなど)の例を出すまでもなく、〈私〉にとって馴染みのないものの到来、少なくとも意識的ではないものの層の存在が探り当てられているように思われる。本研究は、こうした議論のそれぞれの枠組みをあぶりだすことによって、それらの議論に共通の場所を与え、さらには〈私〉概念の新たな理解のパラダイムを提供することを目的として開始された。そのために、近代以降の哲学史における記憶論・時間論の徹底的な検索作業と、現代の時間と〈私〉に関するさまざまな議論の検討を、以下の論点に絞って行なった。(1)ベルクソン、フッサール、ハイデガ-、メルロ=ポンティ等の時間論が、主観性あるいは意識をどのようなものとして提示しているのか、それぞれの差異と共通点について再検討した。(2)現在アメリカの現象学者たちをも捲き込んで進行している「物語」(narrative)に関する議論が、それ以前までの時間論をどのように改変したのか、それが〈私〉の理解に関してどのような影響をもちうるのかを批判的に検討した。本研究は予想以上に射程がひろく、実のところ研究の端緒にようやくたどりついたというのが現状である。本研究の包括的成果については今後の研究の継続に委ねられることとなった。

Since then,"memory" and "privacy" have been the root of their identity. The two types of memory (habit and memory, past control and memory) are divided into two categories: one is the main body, the other is the spiral. The memory is hidden in the privacy, and the path to the heart is hidden in the privacy, and the path to the other is hidden in the privacy. At the same time,"think of","discuss","psychoanalysis","literature","private","self-cultivation","arrival","consciousness","existence","exploration","thinking". This study is aimed at providing a new understanding of the concept of "privacy" in the context of discussion. A thorough search for the theory of memory and the theory of time in the history of modern philosophy, a discussion of the relationship between modern time and privacy, and the following arguments are discussed. (1)The time theory, the main character, the consciousness and the common point of the differences are discussed again. (2)Nowadays, scholars of the phenomenon of amoricality are conducting discussions about "narrative", changing the previous theory of time, and criticizing the influence of "private" understanding. This study aims at the above range and status quo of research. This study includes the results of future research.
