日本において、現在の家族像の原型といえる像が、マスメディアにおいていつどのように成立し、それはどのようなものであったかをテーマとした。具体的には、1950年代に映画において成立した「ホームドラマ」に関する資料の収集と分析をおこなった。この研究助成によって実際におこなった調査研究は以下のとおりである。(1)戦前と1950年以後の、映画における家族像の変化を実証するため、キネマ旬報の記事を対象に、昭和10年と昭和30年の内容分析をおこなった。(2)当時の宣伝の形式を分析するため、1948〜1964年の家族をテーマとした映画の新聞広告と新聞記事を調べ、内容分析をした。(1)(2)のため、コピー代、と資料作成のためのアルバイト代。消耗品代、資料収集旅費を要した。(3)当時の監督、宣伝担当、企画者らにインタビューをおこなった。このため、テープ起こしのためのアルバイト代、消耗品代、若干の飲食代を要した。(4)これ以外に、関連の雑誌記事やプログラムの収集、当時の映画の視聴や録画をおこない、撮影所の見学をおこなった。このため、コピー代、アルバイト代、ビデオ等の消耗品代、旅費を要した。これらの分析から、戦前の、階級的で母子を中心した家族像から、1950年代より大衆的で日常生活を中心とした「家族」像が共有されていったことが明らかとなり、当時の家族的行為の変化やその後の高度成長との関連も推測される。また、こうした変化は、従来の一方向的なメディアの作り手-受け手モデルでは説明できない。これらの成果の一部は、5月の法社会学会で「戦後日本の家族像」として、9月の家族社会学会で、「映画における家族神話の生成」というタイトルで発表した。来年度さらに分析をすすめて、図書として出版する予定である。
