本研究は、子供達の生活の場としての学校建築において、園児・児童の姿勢・行動に関する生態学的な調査を通して、その構成材料や構法に由来する物理的セッティングと人間行動との接面を把握し、空間構成材料の認知工学的研究の枠組みを準備することを目的としている。本年度は、以下の二つの項目を柱とした調査研究を行い当初の研究目的を概ね達成し得たと考えている。1.学校施設の床仕上げ材料の変還教育の近代化が図られた明治初期以降、学校施設の床は大きく変化してきた。従来の畳から板の間への劇的変化の後、リノリウム推奨の時期を経て、標準設計のRC造校舎建設が始まると塗床やビニル系床が多用されるようになった。近年では、オープンスペースの設置や教育の多様化等に伴い木質系床およびカーペット敷が急増している。この結果は、専門誌等に発表しているが今回は対象とした学校施設数が限られているため、同様の調査を全国規模で実施することが必要であると考えている。2.アフォーダンス理論に基づく行動分析幼稚園・小学校の床上における子供達の行動をビデオ撮影により記録し、時間抽出法によって主に身体部位と床との接触頻度を単位として整理・分類した。その結果値床仕上げの違いによってその姿勢に顕著な差異があることを確認し、併せて、3才児と5才児の比較分析の結果、床面において姿勢を小刻みに変化させることが多い3才児に比べ、5才児は連続して床に接触している傾向があることを確認した。現在、これらのデータに基づいて、時間的な動き(動的姿勢)を定量的に把握するべくより詳細な分析を行っている。
