本研究では全国の余暇関連施設に関する、地域利用率・滞留率・平均滞留時間等の施設規模計画に有意な定量データの定着と、それらの相関分析・年間利用者数算定モデルの試作を通して以下の点が明らかとなった。(1)地域利用率は大都市立地近郊集客型、遠郊立地全国集客型共に指数関数的に右下がりの曲線をなしている。(2)月別利用者数変動では夏型、春夏型、通年型の3つに分けられた。(3)時刻別利用者数変動では夜間営業施設で2つのピークを持つサンプルが博覧会施設・大都市立地型屋内施設に見られる。(4)余暇施設の入場集中率は60分集中率で最大20%前後とやや低めであるが、遠郊立地且つ団体利用の多い施設では40%に達する。(5)平均滞留時間には大差はないが、滞留率は夜間営業施設が約半分の値をとる。滞留時間・入場集中率による滞留率予測を検証した結果、平均滞留時間4〜4.5hで推定値は実測値と一致するが、それ以下では推定値が低く、以上では高くなる傾向が見られる。(6)重回帰式による利用者数算定モデルでは、既存の余暇施設14サンプルを取り上げて、目的変数を「年間利用者数」として説明変数の抽出にあたった。その結果「後背大都市(人口100万人以上)からの最短アクセス時間」「後背大都市の人口」「施設面積」「客単価」「事業費」を説明変数とした回帰式が得られた。なお、対象施設の定性的属性はデータ収集に留まり今後の研究課題とし、上記の定量データとの関係が明らかにされるものと考えている。
