本研究は,既に実証されている「運動の質と感情価(7Motives)」(松本千代栄)をてがかりに,ダンス未熟練者の表現能力の特性(限界)及び男女の表現能力の特性(差異)を実証的に明らかにし,男女共修に対応した指導法の改善を図る基礎資料を得ることを目的とした。研究実施内容及び結果は,以下の通りである。1.ダンス未熟練者(大学生)男女各3名,ダンス熟練者(舞踊家)男女各2名の計10名を被検者とし,各Motiveにふさわしい運動を創作させ,創作過程及び創作された運動のVTR収録及び写真撮影を行った。収録された運動について分析を行った結果,未熟練者は熟練者と比較すると(1)「さりげない]「寂しい」等において運動が日常動作のまま現出し様式化されていないこと,(2)体軸の屈曲やねじりが少ないこと,(3)運動の速度変化の幅が狭いこと,(4)空間軸跡が明確でないこと,(5)(1)〜(4)は男女に共通の特性であることが明らかとなった。2.Motive創作後に,被検者10名にアンケート調査を行った結果,10名中7名が最も創作しにくいMotiveとして「さりげない」を挙げた。創作しやすさ/創作しにくさの要因としては,日常生活の中で身近な感情であるか,運動の質や型を具体的にイメージしやすいかの2つにまとめられた。また,各Motiveから連想されるイメージ数・内容には,未熟練者と熟練者,男子と女子の間に明確な差異は見られなかった。3.収録された運動を男女大学生に鑑賞させ,各運動のイメージを7Motivesの語群から選択させた結果,未熟練者の運動も熟練者と同様,概ね各Motiveが鑑賞者に伝達されていることが明らかになった。4.1〜3の結果から,ダンス未熟練者の表現能力の特性についてはいくつか明らかになった。男女の特性については今後さらに多くの被検者を対象に研究をすすめ,検討を重ねていきたい。
