本研究の目的は、在宅で障がい児を育てている親の生活の質（QOL)と共同育児（コペアレンティング）の特徴と関連因子を明らかにし、支援方法を導くことである。第1研究として、0歳から18歳までの健常児の親に対して、共同育児（コペアレンティング尺度）、生活の質（QOL尺度）（SF-12）、ソーシャルサポート尺度を用いて、属性として親の特性（年齢、性別、職業、結婚の有無、年収）子供の特性として、年齢、性別について、オンラインによるアンケート調査を実施した。370名から回答を得た。同様の調査内容を用いて、全国の障がい児を育てる親の会の承諾を得て、アンケート調査を実施した。306名に送付し130名回収（回収率45.7％）した。障がい児の親と健常児の親の生活の質（QOL）（SF-12）を比較した。さらに、共同育児（コペアレンティング）を独立変数として、関連因子を抽出した。第2研究として、障がい児のコペアレンティングに関する研究が少ないことから、障がい児の親にＱＯＬとコペアレンティングの現状を質的研究により明らかにすることを目的として、半構成的インタビューを実施した。第1研究にて協力いただいた障がい児の親の会の承諾を得て、本人の承諾が得られた13名に対してZoomによるインタビューを実施した。対象者は、父親3名、母親10名のインタビュー内容を逐語録化し、Nvivoを用いて、生活の質（QOL）（SF-12）と共同育児（コペアレンティング）に関連する内容の抽象度をあげ、カテゴリ化した。
