The research was carried out as follows :Review of research plan July 1,94-July 30,94Questionnaire design Sept.1,94-Sept.30,94Translation of the questionnaire Oct.5,94-Oct.20,94Print of the questionnaire Oct.20,94-Oct.30,94Preparing Mailing list Oct.10,94-Oct.20,94Mailing Questionnaire Nov.4,94-Nov.8,94Data Entry Dec.20,94-Dec.28,94Data Analysis Jan.10,95-Feb.15,95Report writing Feb.25,95-March 10,95Although the research is not complete in the details because of short of time, the general characteristics in manufacturing of Japan and Korea is clarified. In general, Korea is much behind of Japan in Manufacturing. Korea intends to diversify the products variety, but is confronting some troubles because of low skill in manufacturing. On the other hand, Japan is excellent in manufacturing skill, but shows not good performance in production lead time, that will become more important in the competitive environment.The research should be continued to the in-depth analysis.
