当該年度に、以下の研究実績をあげた。まず、「家計調査集成」の家系データを取得し、これらのデータの入力および分析をパーソナル・コンピュータを用いておこなった。データは、まず年代別に分類し、次にそれぞれの年代ごとに、世帯主の職業別に分類し、世帯類型別のファイルを作成した。この中でも、「単身世帯」、そして核家族である「夫婦世帯」と夫婦と子供が1人いる「3人世帯」を抽出し、それぞれの属性別に家計データファイルを作成した。これらの家計データファイルを用いて、「単身世帯」の性別・年齢別の家計データを作成した。そして5大費目のそれぞれについて性別・年齢別の消費支出額を回帰分析によって算出した。男性の消費支出額を1として女性の数値を指数化することによって、性別の「消費単位」を算出した。同様に年齢についても年齢別の「消費単位」を算出した。これらの計算をそれぞれの費目ごとにおこなった。次に、「3人世帯」に関しては、まず世帯主の年齢別に世帯を分類し、さらに、子供の年齢別に分類したファイルを作成した。そして「3人世帯」の家計データから、子供の年齢別のそれぞれの費目の消費支出額を算出した。「夫婦世帯」を世帯主の年齢によって分類し、世帯主の年齢分類が同じである「3人世帯」を抽出し、その消費支出額から「夫婦世帯」の消費支出額を引くことで、子供の年齢別の消費支出額を算出した。これと同様の計算をそれぞれの費目ごとにおこなうことで、子供の年齢別・費目別の消費支出額を算出した。これらの数値を指数化して子供の年齢別・費目別の「消費単位」を算定した。同様の計算を「全国消費実態調査」についてもおこなう。
