1.学習指導要領および教科書のオリンピズムに関わる記述の分析結果(1)記述を量的に分析した結果:昭和22年から平成元年までの中学校保健体育科の学習指導要領および指導書における、オリンピック大会とオリンピズムに関連する記述は、昭和26年次が最も多く、オリンピック大会を説明する記述だけが残るかたちで大幅に減少した後、昭和53年以降、まったく見られなくなった。(2)記述内容をオリンピック憲章の変遷と比較して検討した結果:オリンピック憲章は昭和27年〜平成3年までに1〜2年毎に改定された。その変遷経緯の特徴として、(1)オリンピズムを普及するためのオリンピック運動の重要性の強調、(2)オリンピック運動の普及組織としての国際オリンピック委員会の権限の明確化、(3)オリンピズムの目的の具体化、があげられる。わが国の学習指導要領および中学校保健体育科の教科書の記述には、こうした変遷内容は盛り込まれていない。特に(3)に関連して、オリンピック憲章ではオリンピズムの目的が国際的視野を広げつつ具体化されるのに反し、わが国の学習指導要領および教科書ではスポーツのもつ精神的・社会的価値に関わる内容表現が、学習者の個人的・内的経験の範囲に収束する傾向がみられた。2.今後の課題学習指導要領の改定審議経過に関連する資料の入手が困難であったため、これについての検討は今後の課題としたい。また上述した結果と先行的研究によるわが国のオリンピズムに関する内容の教育的伝達手段としてのメディアの重要性についての指摘から、新聞・雑誌・テレビ等のメディアにおける伝達内容を検討する必要があるものと考えられる。
