本研究は、生命科学と教育的概念、言説との関係についての基本的知見を、生命科学全体の動向を見据えながら総合的に分析することによって検証し、さらに深めることを目的とするものであった。当初の計画に基づき、当該年度において次のような調査・研究を行った。(1)基本的資料の調査・収集戦前日本の生命科学の展開と、(1)「遺伝-環境」論争、(2)教育測定運動、(3)大正自由教育、(4)「障害者」教育、などの論点と関係のある書籍の調査・収集を行った。その結果、130点以上の関係書籍を各種図書館の目録や古書店目録などからリストアップすることができ、そのうち特に重要と思われる基本書籍約40点を購入またはコピーで入手した。なお、当初予定した教育関係雑誌などの記事・論文の収集は不十分に終わった。この点に関しては、今後の課題としたい。(2)収集資料のデータベース化リストアップされた資料の年次別刊行点数の推移や、目次の比較分析といった内容の変化を分析するための基礎作業を行った。また、一部重要なものについては、必要部分をコンピュータに入力してデータ・ベース化した。本作業の結果、戦前日本における生命科学と教育的概念・言説の関係を分析するための「見取り図」を得ることができた。今後の研究方針を策定するうえでこの成果は大きい。なお、当初計画では、上記の作業を踏まえ、生命科学と教育的概念・言説についての時期区分を行い、さらに、戦前日本における生命科学の展開の基本的動向とそこに見られる人間観・能力観を析出することを目的としていた。しかし、資料収集がまだ十分ではないため、この作業を十分に行うことができなかった。今後、補完的な資料収集・整理を行い、残された課題に取り組む予定である。

This study contains basic knowledge about the concepts and relationships between life sciences and education, and trends in life sciences as a whole. From now on, the completed collection and arrangement of data, and the completion of the remaining projects will be decided.
