本年度の研究実績の概要は、以下のとおりである。(1)1984年以来、北インドの農村調査で収集した儀礼や祭りに関する民俗歌謡の資料を、ヒンディー語のソフトの使えるコンピューターを購入して入力し、データ・ベース化をおこなうことが主要な目的の1つであったが、資料が膨大であり、現在も継続中である。歌詞の変化を比較分析したり、親族呼称の分析から家族関係、社会関係を把握するように、データ・ベースを構築中である。(2)年に3回、東京大学東洋文化研究所、国立民族学博物館に出張し、これまでに発表されたボ-ジプリ-地域に関する民俗歌謡の資料収集をおこなうとともに、北インドの民俗歌謡の収集をおこなっている東京大学東洋文化研究所の永ノ尾信吾助教授(サンスクリット学)や拓殖大学の坂田貞二教授(インド文学)の適切なアドヴァイスをうけた。(3)研究を発展させるために1995年8月から9月にかけて40日間ほどインドに赴き、北インドの農村において補充調査を実施した。そのさいに、民俗歌謡の収集をおこなう。また、ボ-ジプ-リ-地域の民俗歌謡の印刷物を収集もおこなった。また、デリーのAmerican Insitute of Indian StudiesのS.チョドリー主任研究員の助言をうけ、J.N.U.大学のウベロイ助教授に指導をうけた。(4)資料の分析と平行して、東京大学東洋文化研究所などにおける研究会に参加した。(5)これらをもとにして、現在、研究成果に関連した論文を発表するとともに、データ・ベースの成果にもとづいた論文の作成を現在おこなっている。1部については、1996年3月に東京大学東洋文化研究所で研究発表をおこなった。
