本年度は、通産省発行の「工業統計表」をデータ・ソースとして、製造業における原価構造(材料費、労務費、経費の構成比)に関する分析を行った。工業統計表におけるデータ項目が、有価証券報告書における製造原価明細書と若干異なっているために、原価の構成比を製造品出荷額に対する原材料使用額、現金給与総額の割合を算出することにより、導出した。これらの構成比を産業別(標準産業分類の4桁レベル)に求め、さらに過去20年にわたり分析を行った。その結果として、産業別に原価構造に特徴が存在することが発見され、また時系列的な分析により、その変化を発見することができた。例えば、自動車組立業においては、原材料使用額の比率が上昇しており、電子計算機業においては、原材料使用額、現金給与総額の両方の比率とも低下している。さらに、原価構造だけでなく、減価償却費や在庫の製造品出荷額に対する割合も産業別に算出した。その結果は、在庫についてはいわゆるジャスト・イン・タイム生産方式が広く導入されていると言われている、自動車産業において、在庫の割合は年々低下している。これは、ジャスト・イン・タイム生産方式による在庫水準の低下を裏付けるものとして、貴重なデータであると思われるまた、減価償却費に関しては、減価償却費の比率が設備投資の多寡を示すものとして考えると、業種間の取引構造との関連で興味深い結果が得られた。このように、本研究により今まで明らかにされてこなかった産業別の原価構造の問題が、部分的ではあるが解明された。
