当初の予定通り、現在わが国で唯一の、一般向けの交通情報提供システムであるATIS(Advanced Traffic Information System)を購入し、都内10通りのODペアについて、所要時間の平均値と分散を計測した。また、物流業者のトラックのドライバーと、東京商船大学の学部学生から、同ODペアについて、「認知平均所要時間」「認知所要時間分散」をアンケート調査により問いただした。このデータを用いることにより、1)個人が認識する経路別所要時間と、実所要時間との相違、2)属性別の認識所要時間の相違を計測することができた。さらに、非集計経路選択モデルを構築することにより、所要時間提供システムが個人行動に与える影響を、その推定パラメータ値より求め、物流ドライバーの行動特性を明らかにすることができた。具体的には、提供される情報値と、個人があらかじめ認識している、認知所要時間との重みづけパラメータを、経路選択モデルパラメータより推定することにより、この評価を行うことが可能である。結果の概略を簡単に示すと、1)経路の走行経験がないドライバーは、経験のあるドライバーよりは、情報提供システムを重視すること、2)学生は貨物ドライバーに比して、交通情報提供システムに対する信頼度が高いことなどが判明した。また、後者の結果については、アンケートにおいて、「どのような情報提供メディアを望むか」という質問の結果からも、同様の傾向を得ており、本分析方法論が妥当な結果を導いていることが確認されている。
