平成7年度において、WASMIIのエミュレータを実装するため、各社のFPGAを調査した結果、Visual Logic機能を持つATMEL社のAT6000シリーズを用いることにした。しかし、他社同様、開発ツールが高価なため、導入することが困難であった。そこで、論理回路シミュレータによる設計と評価に方針を変え、ソフトウェア環境の確立も同時に行うことにした。総じて平成7年度では、次のことを平行して行った。1 ハードウェアの拡張および改良:ATMEL社のFPGAチップを利用するエミュレータの設計を行ったのと同時に、平成6年度開発した8ビットWASMIIエミュレータに、浮動小数点演算機能を持たせた16ビットへ拡張した。これより、従来できなかった浮動小数点演算を含むより現実的なアプリケーション開発が可能になった。2 ソフトウェア環境の確立:エミュレータ上にアプリケーションを載せ、システム評価を行うための環境として、(1)16ビットエミュレータ用ライブラリ(2)前処理において重要な役割を果たすスケジューリング方法PASAMを開発した。これより、ニューラルネットによる学習問題をアプリケーションの1例として導入し、エミュレータおよびスケジューリング法の評価を行った。3 アーキテクチャの性質を見極めるため、ワークステーション上において並列処理モデルのシミュレータを開発した。以上、行った研究の結果はまだ初期的なものであり改善の余地はある。現在、スケジューリング法PASAMの研究論文をまとめており、平成8年度中に発表する予定である。今後、ハードウェアの改善を重ねると同時に、ソフトウェア開発環境に力を入れる予定である。
