RESEARCH ON EDUCATIONG PROCESS OF ETHNIC ELITE IN MULTI-ETHNIC SOCIETY : FOCUSSING ON MALAYSIAN WHO'S WHO ANALYSIS

In this research I tried to clarify rout of ethnic elite. I analized the six-hundred random sampling cases from "New Malaysian Who's and made clear the following facts ; Each ethnic elites came from every States in Malaysia reflected in real ethnic population rates. Chinese elites tends to go abroad earlier, the post secondary education level, than Malay elites. And they sticked to UK as the terminal destination to study. If they graduate Chinese-medium schools, they tend to proceed the Overseas Chinese-medium Universities. On the other hand, Malay elites studied in various country, such as Australia, Singapore and so on, at undergraduate level. At the graduate level, they chose UK and USA to study. The elites who came from East Malaysia, that is Saba and Sarawak in north Borneo, have a tendency to go Australia. Australia become easier county to study abroad than UK or USA, because geographic distance between both comparatively near and East Malaysia still make stress on English education rather than West Malaysia. Each destination country has the special recognition system for the Malaysian : dents. . he USA has AACRAO (The American Association of Collegiate Registars and Admission Officers) which give the information for the recutuitment and the proceeding systems for international sutudents in USA.Especially information book on Malaysia records copies of every ethnic schools certification and accreditation or corresponding tabel of each subjects' grades. In England NARIC (The National Academic Recognition Information Centre) published "International Guide to Qualification in Education". And also in Australia, IDP Australia and AVCC (Australian Vice-Chancellor's Committee) give some information for acqusition of international students and support agreement between Australian universities and overseas universities.
