The study of vegetation and pollen distribution along an altitudinal transect in the Caspian forests (Northern Iran) and the palynological analysis of sediment cores from peatlands in different altitudes of the study area will provide the first reliable information on the Holocene vegetation, climate, and land use history of the Caspian broad-leaved forests.
