本研究の目的は(1)「屋敷林」の関する報告の一元化を試み、データベース化して分布状況を把握すること、(2)現地調査を実施し、「屋敷林」の実態を明らかにすることがあったが、当初の目的はおおむね達成された。今回の研究の対象は東北地方に限定しているが、従来「屋敷林」に関する一元化された情報はなく、その意味ではこのデータは、今後のさまざまな立場からの研究に寄与しうる成果を生んだ。とくに民俗学の領域では「屋敷林」を指す民俗語彙の地域的分布状況を比較的詳細に把握し得た。たとえば「屋敷林」をイグネもしくはエグネと呼称するのは岩手県南半から宮城県、福島県東半分、さらに栃木県まで、広範囲な広がりを見せることが分かった。さらに呼称を共通にする「屋敷林」の分布域では形態や機能についても共通性が指摘できる。また東北地方の脊梁山脈を境に、太平洋側と日本海側の「屋敷林」の呼称分布が異なることも判明した。現地調査は岩手、青森、秋田、山形の各県で実施したが、既存の報告では明らかにできなかった現状の詳細や伝承についての資料を収集できた。そもそも従来の「屋敷林」に対する視点に欠落しているものがあることから出発した研究であるから、(1)で明らかになったデータに新たな視点を加味しながら、今後も継続して詳細なデータを登録し基礎資料として蓄積する必要がある。今回の研究では東北地方の「屋敷林」のあり方を解明した。「屋敷林」は地域の自然環境と人文環境に規制されて存在する。従って、今後もここで用いた方法をもって、国内に広がる「屋敷林」のデータベース化を地方毎に蓄積していくことによって、長年にわたって培ってきた「人と森林との関係」を民俗学の立場から明らかにできる可能性が拓けた。

The objectives of this study are: (1) to try to unify the report on "Yushilin" and to grasp the distribution of data;(2) to carry out field investigation and to clarify the status of "Yushilin"; and (3) to achieve the original objectives. The present research aims at the unification of information and meaning related to the Tohoku region, and the future research aims at the production of results. In the field of folklore, we can obtain a detailed understanding of the geographical distribution of folk vocabulary such as "house forest". "Yashiki" is the name of the village. It is the name of the village. The distribution domain of "house application forest" is called commonality, and the commonality is called commonality. The distribution of the names of the "Yashilin" in the Tohoku Mountains, the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Japan is different. Local survey of Iwate, Aomori, Akita, Yamagata and other areas of implementation, existing reports, detailed information on the status quo, and collection of data The new viewpoint is required to be recorded in the future. The present study is aimed at explaining the problems of the "house application forest" in the northeast region. "House forest" is the existence of natural environment and human environment regulation. In the future, we will use the method of "house application forest" to develop the possibility of "human forest application" in China.
