It is particulary important to be concerned with inhabitant insects, which are important members of the food chain. This resarch study focused on the relation between land insect community and environmetal conditions such as vegetation, landuse, maintenance of vegetation and planting in the riparian area. The Tama River was selected as the study field.The results are as follows ;(1) 33 species of insects were caught with bait-trap for investigation. 164 species of insects were caught with light-trap for investigation.(2) Environmental condition in the riparian area which are vegetation, planting, maintenance of vegetation, and landuse, affect inhabitants of some species.(3) It is suitable for inhabitants of insects to conserve natural vegetation, to plant hight density and to avoid unnecessary human works.

特别重要的是要关注栖息昆虫，它们是食物链的重要成员。研究了陆生昆虫群落与河岸植被、土地利用、植被维护、种植等环境条件的关系。选取多摩河作为研究领域。研究结果如下：(1)用诱捕器捕获昆虫33种进行调查。用诱蚊灯捕获昆虫164种进行调查。(2)河岸区植被、植被种植、植被维护和土地利用等环境条件对某些物种的生物有影响。(3)昆虫居民宜保存天然植被，种植密度宜高，避免不必要的人为工程。
