CLOTHING EFFECTS ON COMFORT OF THE LIVING ENVIRONMENT FOR THE BEDRIDDEN ELDERLY PEOPLE

The purpose of this study was to investigate the clothing effect on comfort of the living environment for the bedridden elderly people.A survey was made on the clothing management of the bedridden elderly people at institutions and homes in Japan, Germany and New Zealand. In addition, the comfort of nursing wear was examined by female students. The results obtained were as follows :1)In the literature on bedridden elderly, the onle opinion concerned with the elderly's living environment was shown by the helper. The elderly's opinions mean a termendous lot to the subjects.2)In the clothing management, the bedridden elderly people have not done by themselves.3)The analysis of the survey showed that in 64% of the institutions the nursing wear was used by the bedridden elderly people.4)The experimental results on the nursing wear showed that the comfrot was not good. It is necessary to consider that the desigh, material and color are tested by the real sleeping conditions.5)The analysis of the survey based on the foreign countries, the bedridden elderly people were not admitted. The elderly people can live by themselves with the aids of volunteer. Their clothing management were good.
