Volunteer participation influence life fulfillment in Nagano Olympic Games.

None of the sport event organizations had the opportunity to participate as volunteers in the past, in Japan. Recently volunteers were recruited. The purpose of this research is to investigate volunteer's life fulfillment received from their participation. Expectation and satisfaction of volunteers are an essential part of the investigative process. Once investigated information gathered assist management in making future decision.Two surveys were conducted.First survey (before volunteer activity.) : A series of questions were asked about past experiences, expectations, and the type of positions desired. Two thousand, randomly chosen volunteers were surveyed.Second survey (after volunteer activity.) : A series of questions were asked about the activities the volunteers' participated in. Some volunteers had the opportunity to participate in more than one activity and was asked to evaluate each activity individually. Volunteers were also asked about their satisfaction. 941 volunteers responded to the survey.In this study the following results were obtained :1. About 50% of volunteers wasn't assigned the activity which they desired. However, 80% of volunteers felt satisfied.2. Six factors were indicated by principal component analysis : social contribution, sport event, life learning, company-making, the privileges of staff and self-use.
