Reconsidering classical agricultural location theory by focusing on the conditions of agriculture for distant transportation

本文结合模型构建、文本再解释和实地考察三种方法，对经典农业区位理论进行了研究。在远离大都市圈的农业地区宫崎县，这一理论出现了一些反常现象。因此，重新审视周边地区的理论具有重要意义。研究结果总结如下。（1）建立了基于非线性运输成本和规模经济的农区季节性波动模型。（2）将冯·图嫩的文本重新解读为现代农业区位论。（3）考察了宫崎、京都、名古屋三地泡菜加工业的空间分工。

Classical agricultural location theory is investigated, unifying such three methodologies as model-building, text reinterpretation, and fieldwork. Some anomaly of the theory are appeared in Miyazaki Prefecture, agricultural areas remote from metropolitan regions. Therefore, it is important to reconsider the theory in the peripheral regions. Research results are summarised as follows.(1)The seasonal ocsillation of agricultural areas is constructed as a model based on non-linear transport costs and economies of scale.(2)The text of von Thunen is reinterpreted as a modern agricultural location theory.(3)The spatial division of labor about pickles processing industy is investigated in Miyazaki, Kyoto, and Nagoya.
