考古学発掘資料による建物の復原方法に関する基盤的研究

该项目的目的是研究在伴随城市和周边发展的挖掘过程中，从北海道到九州，日本各地的考古遗址中出土的各种各样的建筑遗迹。这些遗址的年代跨度很大，从绳纹时代和弥生时代开始，一直延续到中世纪和近代早期。项目组由建筑历史学家和考古学家组成，目的是考虑从考古数据中重建建筑物的方法，评估它们，并就如何改进这一过程提出建议。访问了许多地点，并举行了一些研究会议。后者特别侧重于两个主题：根据福冈县梭里遗址出土的建筑构件的实际碎片重建绳纹和弥生时期的建筑，以及重建在近畿地区出土的中世纪城市结构。非研究小组成员的这一领域的专家也参加了这些会议，并为讨论提供了他们的专门知识。

The purpose of this project was to examine the wide variety of building remains that have been unearthed on archaeological sites in all parts of Japan from Hokkaido to Kyushu, in the course of excavations that have accompanied urban and peripheral development. The sites range widely in date, beginning in the Jomon and Yayoi periods and continuing through to the mediaeval and early modern periods. The project group consisted of architectural historians and archaeologists, and the aim was to consider methods by which buildings can be reconstructed from archeological data, evaluate them, and make sugggestions about how the process might be refined. Numerous sites were visited and a number of study meetings were held. The latter focussed in particular on two subjects : the reconstruction of Jomon and Yayoi period buildings from actual fragments of architectural members excavated at the Sori site in Fukuoka Prefecture, and the reconstruction of mediaeval urban structures excavated in the Kinki region. Experts in this field who were not members of the study group also participated in these meetings and lent their expertise to the discussions.
