项目摘要

本研究は、幕末期における西洋教育情報受容過程と、その特質を解明することであった。それは「学制」前史研究の一環であって、近代日本国民教育制度の形成過程における西洋教育情報の"missing link"探求の一環として位置付くものである。そして、この研究において1.西洋教育情報受容過程の解明、2.国民教育制度に関する認識の分析、3.教育への国家関与の諸相の分析、4.国際的視野から幕末維新期に於ける近代学校制度形成の胎動の分析、をめざした。その成果を、次の論文としてまとめ、公表した。1.青地林宗訳述『輿地誌略』の西洋教育情報(『安田女子大学大学院博士課程完成記念論文集』1999年)2.杉田玄端訳『地学正宗』の西洋教育情報(『安田女子大学大学院文学研究科紀要』第5集、2000年)3.山村才助の西洋教育情報(『安田女子大学大学院文学研究科紀要』第6集、2001年)なお、蘭学者の受容した西洋教育情報をオランダ語原典にあたり、逐一対照したことは、本研究の特徴のひとつである。本研究を通して、蘭学者たちが受容した西洋教育情報の内容が、しだいに拡がり深化していることを明らかにした。すなわち、最初に大学に関する情報が受容され、ついでアカデミーの情報や中等専門職業学校の情報が受容され、さらには国民教育機関の情報が受容されるようになったことである。
