本年度の研究は、昨年度の研究を継続し、イスラム哲学の基礎的語彙・概念、特に「存在」に関わる語彙・概念の形成過程に関する調査を行った。備品費で、アル・キンディー、アル・ファーラービー、イブン・シーナーの基本的テキスト及び最近の研究書・論文の収集を行い、3年間で蓄積された資料に基づいて、アリストテレス存在論の基礎概念が、アラビア語文化圏で翻訳受容されていった過程、さらに、最終的にラテン語に翻訳され、西洋に流入していった過程を、原典に基づいて実証的に跡づける作業を行った。特に本年度は、存在をめぐる語彙が、アル・ファーラービー、イブン・シーナーにおいて理解・受容されていったか、またギリシア語の概念がアラビア語に翻訳された結果生じるずれが、さらにラテン語に訳される場合、ラテン語の概念においてどのように反映されたのか、という文化受容の際における文化変容過程の研究に重点を置いた。この作業は、膨大な作業を必要とするため、本学内において、研究会を開催し、基本テキストの読解を進めるとともに、他大学・研究所における資料収集、学外の関連分野の研究者との情報交換を行いながら、成果を蓄積できた。萌芽的な領域なので、本年度は具体的な成果を発表するまでには至っていないが、今年度は暫定的見通しをまとめたものとして山内(研究代表者)が『天使の記号学』(岩波書店)を著した。また、まとまった考察を来年度中に刊行予定である。鈴木(研究分担者)が、ヘブライズムに関わる側面を『旧約聖書と現代』(共著、教文館)として著した。
