世界の農業は、WHOが環境に優しい持続型農業で行うべきことを提案し、この方向に向かっている。本国際会議は、害虫を生物的防除によって防除することにより、環境に優しい農業を行おうとするものである。このため、学会プログラムとしては、この目的に添ったシンポジウム24(87人の発表)を中心として下記の如くであった。記念講演(Founder′s Memorial Lecture) 1特別講演(Plenaly Speach) 2シンポジウム(24 sessions) 87ワークショップ(4 sessions) 12一般講演(Contributed paper) 84ポスター発表(Poster session) 121合計 307国際会議参加者は40カ国385名(この他キャンセル22名)であり、第6回までの参加者人数としては2番目に多く、盛会であった。会議の運営は、日本の組織運営委員の協力により順調に行われ、特別な問題点は外国人参加者からも指摘されず、閉会後は、多くの参加者から大成功であったとの謝辞が寄せられた。
