项目摘要

Innovation and education are today central to theories of economic growth. Industrial innovation is regarded as one of the engines of economic growth, and is promoted by accumulations of human capital. However, a lot of serious problems of pollution are associated with the rapid economic growth. These issues should be dealt with within a dynamic framework with a long-term horizon.First of all, from the theoretical viewpoint, we tried to make a number of analyses about environment and economic growth in the context of dynamic model with innovation. Among them, we obtained the interesting proposition that it is necessary for us to use both policies for promoting the economic growth and preserving the environment in the short period as in the case of Tinbergen theorem. Then, we studied the problem of renewable resource in the context of growth model. We tried to study the properties of optimal steady states by using the mathematical framework.Secondly, from the empirical viewpoint, we studied the relationship between environment and income distribution. Especially, we estimated the hypotheses about Kuznet' inverted U-shaped curve by using the regression framework and examined its robustness. We could clarify the case that Kuznet' inverted U-shaped curve is not supported by regression analysis.Furthermore, we tried to study the transitional dynamics by using growth accounting, human capital and economic growth in the context of OLG.
