The following new phosphine complexes have been prepared and characterized by X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, and electronic absorption spectra.1. Ruthenium (II) complexes with 2-(methylthio) dimethylphosphinoethane.2. Cobalt (III) complexes with pentane-2,4-dionate and a series of methyl-phenyl substituted monodentate phosphine ligands.3. Cobalt (III) complexes obtained from the oxidative addition reactions of cyclo-octasulfur and cyclo-octaselenium with the Co (II) complex of 1,3-bis (dimethylphosphino) propane.4. Cobalt (II) complexes of the types Co (II) P_6 and Co (II) P_3S_3 with 1,1,1-tris (dimethylphosphinomethyl) ethane and 1,4,7-trithiacyclononane.5. Chromium (III) complexes with 1,2-bis (dimethylphosphino) ethane, 1,3-bis (dimethylphosphino) propane or 1,1,1-tris (dimethylphosphinomethyl) ethane.6. Titanium (III), Titanium (IV), and Zirconium (IV) complexes with 2-(dimethylphosphino)-ethane-1-thiolate and 3-(dimethylphosphino) propane-1-thiolate.
