1999年8月25〜27日に第10回日本口腔病理学会総会(松戸市市民劇場)において、中国第四軍医科大学のWu Junzheng教授、韓国京城大学のSam-Pyo Hong教授、台湾高雄医科大学のLi-Min Lin教授、インドNagpur大学のVenay K.Hazarey教授を招聘し、アジアにおける口腔病変の比較調査の集計及び検討状況を当学会で報告し、活発なディスカッションが行われた。本学会はアジア各国の口腔病理医の相互交流や共同研究の発展を図り、ひいては欧米と比較してアジアに高い発生頻度を有するとされる種々の口腔病変の病因・病態の解明に寄与した。発表抄録はOral Medicine and Pathology 4(2):p87-89,1999(日本口腔病理学会会誌)に掲載した。さらに学会会期中にアジアの口腔病理医機構設立に向けて準備会議を主催し、ドイツReutlingen病理研究所のArne Brukhardt教授を招聘し、ドイツにおける整備された病理組織診断コンピューターネットワークを紹介し、アジア病理ネットワークの開設計画などについて具体的に合議し、発展性ある展望が得られた。また1999年10月14〜17日に日本大学松戸歯学部の山本浩嗣は韓国京城大学を訪問し、日本における口腔病理学の現状および研究実績を報告した後、アジア口腔病理医機構の準備会議およびシンポジウム開催に向けての打ち合せを行った。

The Society is committed to the development of mutual exchanges and joint research among oral pathologists from various countries, and to the understanding of the causes and pathologies of various oral diseases that have a relatively high incidence. Oral Medicine and Pathology 4(2):p87- 89, published in Journal of the Japanese Society of Oral Pathology, 1999. During the meeting of the Chinese Academy of Pathology, the establishment of an oral pathology institution was promoted, and Professor Arne Brukhardt of the Reutlingen Institute of Pathology was recruited, and the preparation of the pathological diagnosis center was introduced. The establishment plan of the pathological diagnosis center was discussed. Koji Yamamoto, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Nihon University, visited Seoul University, Korea on October 14 - 17, 1999. After reporting on the status quo and research results of oral pathology in Japan, he failed to meet the preparatory meeting for the opening of oral pathology institutions.
