项目摘要

本年度は志怪書の歴史書としての性質を考えるため、志怪書が『隋書・経籍志』において史部雑伝類に分類されていることの意味を考えた。史部雑伝類に分類される志怪書以外の書籍を分析したとき、全ての書物がある主題に沿って人物のエピソードを集めた書物であることが分かる。それらと志怪書を比較すると、志怪書にも同様の性質があることが明白であり、志怪書が伝記集としての性質を有していることを証明した。ただ発表する論文では、志怪書がその他の雑伝書と違い、人物以上に事象自体に関心が向けられていることを書名の末尾字傾向の違いから指摘したものの、現象の意味までは考察することができず、将来の課題として残されている。この結論から更に考察する必要があるのが、人物の身分の問題である。志怪書は他の雑伝書より無名の人物の記録が多い。昨年度、妖怪の話柄については、凶兆の話と、民間の化け物的な妖怪の話で主人公の身分が有名人か無名人かの違いがあることを発見し指摘したが、他の話柄でも特徴的な傾向が見られることを把握しつつある。また五行志と志怪書の関係についても個別の作品集との比較という課題が残されている。志怪ではないが、後漢末に編まれた『風俗通義』は『続漢書・五行志』との重複条もあり、また志怪との重複条もあり、志怪書と五行志を結ぶ点の中間に存在する存在として注目される。この『風俗通義』の著者應劭の怪異に対する態度について目下考察を行っている。近い将来これらの研究成果も世に問いたい。日本及び台湾での論文収集も継続して行った。特に台湾においては、近年志怪分野での学位論文が増加の傾向にあり、研究上有益な論文を入手することができた。
