We did a research on and its analysis of the production and usage of bamboo baskets in mountains, highland, and plateau. We researched in five bamboo basket makers in Chichibu and Tama, and collected 370 pieces of data from 10 museums and archives. The results are as follows:1, The bamboo baskets of each region have much to do with its natural features (mountains or plateau), and with the forms of consequent subsistence (cereals farming).2, The origin of the bamboo basket of various kinds and shapes is a tool for making compost using the fallen leaves from the fields.3, he great variety of the bamboo basket resulted from that of the side jobs such as silkworm breeding, vegetable growing and tea manufacturing developed since Meiji era.4, There were professional and amateur makers. For amateur makers, basket making was a side job of agriculture. Data from Taisho era show that there were more amateur makers than professionals.5, Professional and amateur makers developed different craftsmanship.

对山地、高原、高原竹篮的生产和使用情况进行了调查和分析。本研究以秩父县与多摩县的五位竹篮业者为研究对象，并从10家博物馆与档案馆搜集资料370件。研究结果表明：1、各地竹篮的产生与其自然特征（山地或高原）和随之而来的生活方式（粮食种植）有很大关系; 2、各种形态竹篮的起源是利用田间落叶制作堆肥的工具; 3、竹篮的种类繁多是明治以来发展起来的养蚕、种菜、制茶等副业的结果; 4、竹篮的制作者有专业的也有业余的。对于业余制作者来说，制作篮子是农业的副业。大正时代的数据显示，业余制造者比专业制造者多。5，专业制造者和业余制造者发展了不同的工艺。
