(1) Dinuclear complexes,[(Cp*MCl_2)_2(CN-R-NC)](M=Rh, Ir; Cp*=C_5Me_5) derived from [Cp*MCl_2]_2 1 and diiscocyanide, reacted with OTf, giving Cl-bridged complexes. The Cl-bridges cleavage readily with bidentate ligands such as pyrazine, dipyridine and diisocyanide, generating four-nuclear complexes,[{Cp*MCl(CN-R-NC)L}_4](OTf)_4 bearing different ligands. The core-sizes are 4 x 12 A, depending on ligands(2) Complex 1 was treated with bis (diphenylphosphinomethyl) dihenylphosphine (dpmp), generating mono-or dinuclear complex. Since the former has a free P atom, it coordinates to other metal complexes, affording di-, tri- and four-nuclear complexes, [(Cp*MCl_2)(dpmp)(M'ClCp*)](PF_6), [{Cp*MCl(dpmp)}_2(M'Cl)](PF_6), [{(CP*MCl_2)(dpmp)}_2M'_2](PF_6). These complexes are expected to lead to formation of larger nuclear complexes by resplacement of Cl with bidentate ligands(3) Complex 1 reacted with 1, 3-dithiane 1, 4-dithiane and 1, 3, 5-trithiane, giving mono-, di- and trithiane complexes, in which de- and trithiane ligands adopt chair form and the metal moieties sit at the equatorial positions
