1 オーストラリアにおけるツバメコノシロ科Polydactylus属魚類の分類学的再検討を行い、5種を有効種として認めた。研究成果は出版された。2 インド・太平洋域におけるツバメコノシロ科Polydactylus属魚類の分類学的再検討を行い、有効種14種を記載し、出版された。3 東太平洋域におけるツバメコノシロ科Polydactylus属魚類の分類学的再検討を行い、有効種2種を記載し、出版された。4 東南アジアの淡水域に生息するPolynemus属魚類の分類学的再検討を行った。1)〜5)は出版済み。1)カンボジアのトンレサップ湖から得られた標本に基づき、1新亜種Polynemus melanochir dulcisを記載した。2)メコン河水系およびカリマンタンに生息するPolynemus melanochir melanochirを亜種として再記載し、ネオタイプを指定した。3)インドからタイにかけて生息するPolynemus属のタイプ種P. paradiseusを再記載し、ネオタイプを指定した。4)マレーシアのサラワク州西部の河川のみに生息する稀種P. hornadayiを再記載し、成長に伴う形態の変化も考察した。5)従来Polynemus dubiusと同定されていたタイ、カンボジア、ベトナムに生息する種を1新種Polynemus aquilonarisとして記載した。6)Polynemus属魚類は7種が有効種であることを明らかにした。5 ツバメコノシロ科魚類全8属39種の分類・生態をまとめ、1冊の本にした(印刷中)。
